Eastern States Tour News!

Betty Bombshell and her voodoo rockers are setting their Rocket’s controls for two Eastern states flights.

The countdown has begun for GARTERBELTS & GASOLINE 2012 – a three day festival of Rockabilly, Hotrods & Pin-Ups held in May at Mount Tamborine (QLD). ROCKET TO MEMPHIS is a featured act for the second year running and play the Rockabilly Ball (Fri 4th) and the Hotrod Carnivale (Sun 6th). They join international rockers Mars Attacks (Switzerland) and knockout Aussie bands such as Hank’s Jalopy Demons (VIC), Warren Earl’s Atomic Rockers (QLD), The Fuelers (ACT), Drey Rolans band (NSW) and fellow W.A. outfit Rusty Pinto Combo. If last year is anything to go by, this is gonna be a killer weekend!

Rocket always has a blast in Melbourne – the last shows were in October, so it’s about time the band landed there again. The fab LuWOW in Fitzroy will host 2 nights in a row – June 29th and 30th – for maximum voodoo twistin’ hip-shakin’ action!

Garterbelts & Gasoline Nostalgia Festival 2012

4th-7th May Mount Tamborine, QLD
It’s our great pleasure to be returning to this year’s Garterbelts & Gasoline festival, at Mount Tamborine in May. Rocket performed to a sell-out crowd last year and in 2012 will be working the “hip shakin’ voodoo” at both the Friday night Rockabilly Ball and the Sunday Hot Rod carnival.

The 4 day event once again features a fabulous line-up of Aussie bands, including fellow WA act RUSTY PINTO COMBO and this year, international band MARS ATTACKS. As always there will be the popular pin-up competition, soapbox derby, clothing stalls and plenty of rockin’ music, dancing and good times!

A Very Rocket Christmas

With the silly season in full swing Betty Bombshell and the gang would like take advantage of a brief window of clarity to thank everyone who’s supported the band over the last 12 months and making it a rockin’ year…

A brief list: Devilles Pad & the LuWow, Garterbelts & Gasoline, the Retreat, Mickster / Off the Hip Records, Dom & his video crew, Ben at Design Factory & Lluis Fuzzhound for killer artwork, all the great bands and artists we’ve had the pleasure of performing with – and everyone who’s come to a show and bought a record.

Special mention must go David & Keith who seem to make every gig – and Gavin, who went above and beyond the call Read more…
